Happy Hours Campaign Entry
Strepsils which is the famous medicated sore throat lozenge Brand of India has successfully launched a campaign called #AbMontuBolega. The tagline of the campaign says “Kyunki bin bole ab nahi chalega, Strepsils ke saath #AbMontuBolega.” The concept of #AbMontuBolega campaign is to “Speak your Heart out! Khol Ke Bolo”.
I watched the campaign ad on you tube to get a better idea. The campaign revolves around a central character called Montu who is wise but silent spectator. Montu has been made mum on several occasions though he wanted to speak what he feels. His father and mother argue what Montu will become in future – doctor or engineer. Montu says he wanted to be a painter but he is left mum and in another occasion Montu says to his friends “Let’s not drink and drive” and again he is made silent. Montu who never speaks up for himself finally speaks up for his female colleague, whom the boss wouldn’t let go without completing her work despite it being late night. He pops a Strepsils into his mouth and he is able to give his mind a voice. He speaks very boldly and convinces the boss.
Strepsils has pointed out the importance of an individual’s freedom of expression which we tend to forget many times. The brand emphasizes that we must care for people around us rather than ourselves, and speak up for what is right!
The Video is a must watch for sure.
As a developing nation, India has observed endless social problems. You have the power of voice against these social issues which will result in a clean India.
Living conditions in cities are appealing but no one is actually worried about the problems of pollution, waste disposal, public facilities, sanitation and hygiene. Our country is obstructed from development due to poverty, unemployment and many other issues. We have so many laws in our constitution but there are loop holes everywhere. Making a change in law is not going to make any visible difference. One side rich get richer and poor get poorer. There is corruption in every vertical. People are discriminated due to their caste, creed and colour. You need to give bribe to get your work done. You need to give dowry to get married. You need a recommendation for getting a job. There is no women empowerment. A women cannot go safely alone, cannot make independent decisions and in many cases they are not even allowed to study or work. There are crimes and accidents everywhere. You might be listening to news, reading newspaper or magazine every day and you would have gone through these incidents. Take a look at our rich heritage and enlightened societies and see the conditions prevailing. What you see is a reality.
There are poth holes in the road that take troll of our lives. The officials concerned are misusing the funds set apart for public welfare.
I travel in train every day. A guy misbehaved with me. He was following me and my group of friends for more than a week. He kept staring at us and passed comments. I tolerated. I saw that he was taking images of us the next day. He hit me purposefully two times. My friends were all scared and they asked me to remain quiet too. I decided to fight. I shouted the guy before hundreds of people in the train and snatched his phone. I threatened to use pepper spray if he don’t come with me to police. I straight away reported him to the railway protective force. Had I been silent, he would have repeated the same thing. I saw the same guy again after months and he didn’t even dare to look at me. It would have led to some serious security issues and other consequences if I didn’t act in that way.
I see many government officials involved in corruption. I have seen people transporting dangerous and illegal stuff via trains and the officials allow it for a huge bribe fee in return. Don’t entertain such activities and do not pay bribe to anyone.
Sore throat is definitely not the biggest hurdle to express your thoughts freely but it is the fear of being supressed that is the biggest threat. The brand Strepsils wants to bring about a change through the ‘Ab Montu Bolega’ campaign. Speak up about the things that matter. Join in the hashtag driven conversations on the Facebook and Twitter pages of Strepsils.
The brand has also designed an interactive website http://www.abmontubolega.com/ to encourage the public to share their opinions and views.
There are places that need cleaning, people who deserve your attention & authorities who need to hear your opinions! Don’t be a silent spectator. Raise your voice and make a difference.
Raising our voices against all that is dirty in our country is a power that we all have. Let’s exercise the power of our voice & work towards a Swach Bharat. Let’s support Strepsils by actively participating in this campaign.
There is a Montu inside each one of us. All we need to do is to awake that Montu and act !
