Konjac Sponge Review,Benefits,Usage & Results !!

Hi,
Monsoons have started here. I am super happy but it’s a bad time clicking photos indoors. There is no sunlight at all plus its full wet outside everytime.Argh!!
I love all products with the deep cleansing claim.Konjac Sponges fall under this category. If you are bored of all normal skin care products, the Konjac might interest you. I bought mine from Buyincoins and paid around $2 or 3. I have the wet variety and the black one with charcoal. Read the review of Konjac Sponge in this post.
Let’s see how Konjac Sponge can work wonders on the skin.

What is a Konjac Sponge?

Konjac sponges are facial cleaning sponges designed to cleanse and gently exfoliate the skin.  They are made from the naturally antimicrobial fibre of the Konjac plant .Konjac is a root vegetable just like Yam and these sponges are made of its vegetable fibre. Japanese have been using Konjac as a beauty essential because it’s rich in amino acids and vitamins. Konjac is a vegan alternative and its natural. Konjac Sponges are Biodegradable.

Types of Konjac:

The Konjac sponge comes in two varieties – wet and dry. The wet varieties are pre moistened in a preservative that is anti-bacterial during the packaging and the other one is dry variety which has a much better shelf life.
The Konjac is of various types too. The original or pure white, Black with activated charcoal and the green one with tea extract. The bamboo charcoal Konjac is a natural anti-oxidant and fights bacteria. It Contains activated carbon and various minerals which help to remove excess oil and keep acne at bay.

Directions for Use & Care:

Never store your Konjac in a wet place. Allow it to dry else it will catch fungus or bacteria might grow in it. Use the thread in the sponge and hang it in a dry place. Make sure you replace your Konjac atleast every three months.

My Take on the Product:

Appearance: The Konjac is just like a loofah and is a good manual exfoliator. My Konjac Sponge is Black and it comes pre moistened. Once the Konjac Sponge comes in touch with water it becomes soft and fluffy. When the sponge is dry it is hard to touch and the texture is similar to a pumice stone or a light rock. Once watered, the sponge grows double its size and becomes smoother. The bottom of the sponge is flat. The dry Konjac Sponge is around 5cm in diameter and the wet is 10 cm.
Packaging: It comes in a sealed translucent white plastic pouch. The Konjac Sponge is dome shaped at the top. The Konjac is light weighted.

Application: You can use the Konjac just with water or with your favourite cleanser. The latter might reduce the life time or durability of the sponge tough. I usually soak the sponge in warm water and gently rub it on my face once its soft and after use I allow it to dry. I noticed that the sponge dries completely outside but inside it still has some wetness.
Smell: No particular fragrance.
Performance & Results: The Konjac Sponge works pretty well. Many people compare its performance equivalent to Clarisonic MIA. I do not own it so can’t comment about it. It works as good as a machine exfoliator. It helps in removing dry flakes, excess oil, dead cells and keep acne away. I am using it since a month and it broke me out for the first time. I felt as if my skin is sucking out all the toxins. After a week my face became clear.
The Konjac Sponge gives you a clear face and healthy looking skin.It makes you feel refreshed and improves your complexion on regular use.
I love you Konjac!!
