My Take on Fitbit Flex:
Fitbit Flex looks cool on my wrist. I got the color red. You can also order bands in a few other colors. The band is lightweight and comfortable to wear. It was somewhat difficult to secure the clasp in place for the first couple of times. After a few uses, the rubber loosened a bit. Make sure the band and clasps are lined up properly. Fitbit Flex offers a fantastic app platform which works with iOS, Android and Windows.
I like that it’s water resistant. You are free to wear it while swimming or in the shower. The wristband is made of TPU rubber. Flex sports a thin sliver display cut from dark plastic. The design is followed by five LEDs, a Fitbit logo, and a line of metal used for recharging the battery. The Flex has nine oval holes on one side of its wrist strap with two hard pegs on the other.
The band is 13.99mm wide and sits 10mm. The center part is thickest slimming down to where it fastens. The LED part is 5 mm. Below the band a tracker is placed into a small opening. There are two sizes of band in the pack. The bigger one has nine holes. You can change a few settings from the app.
The display on the band gives me a good idea my progress throughout the day by simply tapping on it. It gives details like number of steps, calories burned, Sleep and restlessness. The data is accurate so far. I can also track my food intake and weight lost. You can compare the data with your friends.
There are 10 colours available ranging from orange, lime green and fluorescent pink, to black or slate. Flex sure helps to stay focused on goals and motivate to be more active.
You can connect Fitbit Flex wirelessly with a smartphone and it goes into my laptop with the help of the tiny dongle. There are 5 lights and each denotes 2,000 steps (20 percent of your goal). All lights blink and the band vibrates when the goal is complete.
If you are wondering how the Flex works, the answer is that the device relies on an internal accelerometer that records your activity. The calculation is done considering age, height, and weight, which is linked to our online Fitbit account.
Flex never sleeps—even when you do. It shows your progress in easy-to-read charts and graphs. One can set up to 8 silent vibrating alarms on this fitbit. You can tap the Flex device rapidly to make it enter sleep mode. You can repeat the tapping to let it know you are awake.
A full charge lasts for about 7 days. It takes 3 hours to recharge it fully. It is safe to submerge Fitbit up to 10 meters in water. The interface of Flex is good and is easy to use. The device doesnt have a built in screen so viewing is possible through a smart phone or computer.
The silicone sporty design, minimal style, amazing list of features, comfort fit and powerful online data analysis tools make Fitbit’s Flex the best fitness tracker. If you are keen on buying a personal fitness tracker to measure your overall activity and sleep, Fitbit Flex is the best choice.
Fitbit Flex is more affordable than its competitors. If you want an advanced model than Flex, you can check Fitbit Charge. FitBit Charge HR looks like a large version of this popular Flex band. I cant wait to try Fitbit ChargeHR 🙂
Thank you Fitbit for helping me stay healthy and motivating me to reach my goals. I find Flex extremely useful.
