Everyone wants to be happy. In today’s world, many of us lead rushed and stressful lives and we are too focused on many things that we often forget about happiness. Forget that you are overloaded with work and take the time to explore what you really need to do to make yourself happy. Throw away those feelings of frustration and hopelessness. When things go wrong, wake up all over again. We all have bad days. Sometimes, it is the little things in life that keeps you happy. I would love to be happier, and I’m sure most of you would, so I thought it would be interesting to share some of my favourite things that make me happy.
An Extra Hour of Sleep
If you feel cranky because you’ve only had five or six hours of sleep, you can have a short nap or even an extra hour of sleep. Sleep deprivation leads to higher levels of stress. If you sleep well, you will handle your daily tasks in a calm, peaceful manner. You will feel much better and your body will thank you too.
Reading a good book can guide you towards a solution you need for the current problem. Books can be your best friends and can inspire or motivate you when it matters the most.
Flipping through Photographs
You instantly feel happier when you look at the pictures because photos bring back your fond and old memories. These happy photos are bound to improve your day.
Trying New Things
Try new things like swimming, walking by the beach, cycling, going for a trip, listening to great music, being with your pet dog and dancing.
Exercise For 30 Minutes In The Morning
This makes you a morning person totally. I was sick of waking up early. The moment I started going for jogging in my favourite track pants and shoes from Nike, I started enjoying it. I take a sip of lemon and honey in warm water, put the beats on in my iPod and run for one hour.
Wear Your Favorite Perfume

A refreshing fruity or floral fragrance can uplift your mood and brighten your day. Perfume, like all beautiful things, makes me happy. I enjoy getting a sniff of my favourite scent all day long.
Spend Time for Yourself
By spending time with yourself, you gain a better understanding of who you are and what you desire in life and this in turn makes you a better person. Indulge in little treats for yourself like having a chocolate/cake/ ice-cream, spa, candlelight dinner, aromatherapy or anything that you love.
Call At least One Of Your Best Friend And Talk
Staying in touch with friends and family is one of the things that can improve your happiness. Time spent with loved ones makes a big difference to how happy you feel. Social time is highly valuable.
Take A Moment To Smile
Smiling itself can make us feel better. Smile and back it up with positive thoughts. A smile is a curve that can set everything straight. Appreciate yourself for the good things you do.
Remember, no one is in charge of your happiness except you.
