Hey girls;

How many of you  have broken lippies or empty lip balm pots?
Are you wondering what to do with it?
Then read on.
I love the idea of creating a lip product that is completely  personalised according to our taste.
This is a really easy and fun way of turning the old lipsticks into gorgeous lip balm.
Here’s how I make my own tinted lip balm!
Here’s what you’ll need:
  • ·         Chapstick /beeswax/Vaseline
  • ·         Iso propyl Alcohol
  • ·         Lipstick
  • ·         Bowl
  • ·         Travel jars
  • ·         Essential oil of your choice

1. First of all disinfect all the tools, spoons and jars that you are going to use in isopropyl alcohol.
2. Place a spoon scoop full of Vaseline/beeswax/Chapstick in the bowl and blow dry it using a hair dryer for 2 min.It will start melting.
3. Chop off a portion of your old lipstick and add a spoon lipstick to the above bowl and melt for 30 sec in a similar way. Continue melting until mixture is completely liquid. Add a few drops of your favourite essential oil. I used Lavender oil.
4. Be quick as this mixture sets within 5 seconds, pour it into the pot or the empty jar and allow it to cool off and it will blend nicely. This will take less than 15 seconds.
5. You may freeze the above mixture in your mixture for 10 min so that it will set properly
6. Voila!! Your tinted lip balm is ready!
7. You can even add glitters if you are a sparkle lover
My Tips:
  • ·         Use boiled water if iso propyl alcohol is not available.
  • ·         If you are using beeswax then you must use a double boiler instead of the dryer
  • ·         Try adding a few chocolate drops and a drizzle of honey
  • ·         You can use old eye shadow pots for storing as they are travel friendly too.

As you can see, mine didn’t turn out too pigmented coz i added more chapstick.I was ok with the results. It was a trial and i will be doing it again this weekend.

I didn’t take much snaps as it was messy 😛 😀
I had so much fun , Try it and you too will love it for sure and it’s just so simple!
So what do you think? Did you like this idea? Will you try making your own tinted lip balms? Leave it in the comments 🙂
