My Take on the Product:
The packaging is same as the normal and Electro Pop versions of Maybelline Lip Balm. The all new Maybelline Spiced Up Lip Balms come in a twist up stick with a pull off cap. The tubes are color coded and hence easy to handle. The packaging is convenient to use and hygienic compared to tub packaging lip balms like the Lass Naturals Chocolate Lip Balm.
I received 2 shades from the Maybelline Lip Balm Baby Lips Spiced Up Range for review – Tropical Punch & Spicy Cinnamon. Tropical Punch is a vivid pink shade while Spicy Cinnamon is a tinted brown lip balm. The shades are moderately pigmented and the color payoff is better than the Maybelline Lip Balm Electro Pop range. It looks bold, dark and vampirish in tube but instead gives a sheer soft finish on lips. The shades are apt for daily use. All the shades are shimmer free. The texture is soft and smooth. It can break into chunks due to its soft nature. The lip balms doesn’t feel heavy or sticky.
The lipbalm adds shine to the lips with a hint of tint. It comes with SPF 20. The lip balm lasts for around 2 – 3 hours and wont survive a meal or drink. The lipbalm requires reapplication every few hours. The 12 hour claim is not true. I also feel that the price is bit hiked.
The features are similar to the previous version of babylips but I love the yummy scent with a mix of spice. The only difference is the flavour and pigmentation. The shades are darker than the usual baby lips lipbalm which suits sun kissed skintones well.
The lip balms are extremely hydrating and nourishing. It can heal dry and chapped lips.
You wont regret buying this if you are a fan of maybelline baby lips line. It is worth giving a try. Please note that it does not have anything special to offer except for a few twists from their regular ones.
