06 Sep 2015 CHALTA HAI KO CHALTA KARO WITH VISTAPRINT !!
I am a visual communication graduate. Being in the media field for some time, I have overheard my friends saying “One day I’m going to start up my own company”. I have even said it myself many times that I want to be my own boss. I’ve always messed around with the thought of starting my own company. There were so many hurdles that stopped me away from taking that big leap.
The dream of working in your shorts from the comfort of your couch, setting your own work hours, having coffee at your desk, doing whatever you feel like, controlling one’s own destiny, travelling in a BMW, meeting interesting people, people reporting to you makes start-up entrepreneurship a exciting one. It seems like almost every person wants to be an entrepreneur these days. Sometimes the truth hurts. The start-up industry might not be as glamorous as it seems. The realities are harsh and far away from the dreams.
A friend of mine is a very good photographer. He worked for a famous magazine but he resigned stating the company sucks and the job was unsatisfying. He set up his own photography studio by applying for a loan. The studio was beautifully furnished with modern décor and equipment’s. He failed to keep a track of the financial matters and didn’t calculate the operational costs. He couldn’t manage the responsibilities well. There was no proper team. He had to wear all the hats himself. He had to capture the photographs, edit it, print it, design albums and collect cash all by himself. The work was overload and unorganized which ultimately led to pressure and the studio couldn’t meet deadlines. He forgot his customers over his dream of making high profits. The customers got frustrated. Ultimately, the studio ended up as a huge vacuum. Work orders that he envisioned as routine proved more daunting to him. Turning your hobby into a business requires lot of efforts and dedication. It is better to do something that we love to do. Money is not everything and you need to be stable enough. Don’t give up due to your one or two failures.
I came across this amusing video by Vistaprint. The video is a humorous take on the difference between the dreams of Start Up Entrepreneurs and their often comical realities. I can relate so well with the #StartUpProblems showcased in this video after supporting my friend throughout the consequences he faced.
#chaltahaikochaltakaro video addresses the existing challenges in the unorganised print industry in our country. The video delivers a message that the ‘Chalta Hai’ attitude needn’t be the tradition and should not be accepted hereafter. There are many Brands who despite their poor service dictate terms to customers deflecting their inadequacy off as ‘Chalta Hai’.
The campaign also stresses on the benefits one can avail with Vistaprint, like Variety of designs, Quick delivery, No minimum work order, customised gifts, good quality, excellent customer support and so on.
