Oriflame The One Long Wear Nail Polish Review & Swatches in Ruby Rouge, Red Sky at Night and London Red

Hey All,

Oriflame is a brand I’ve written quite a lot in the past few months. There were new exciting collections with the launch of Oriflame The One. They have a new addition of nail polishes that forms the ‘Long-Wear Collection’.  I received a bunch of products for review and I kick off today with Long Wear Nail Polish in shades Ruby Rouge, Red Sky at Night and London Red. In this new collection, there are 10 new colors of nail paints.  The Expert gel technology ensures that all colors stay pretty lively, longer and fade out less quickly.

My Take on the Product:

The colors come in a slim glass jar with a silver cap. The jar is transparent and you can see the shades from outside. The jars are elegant and simple. The brush that comes along with the jar is ideal. It is wide and thick than normal applicator brushes of nail polishes but it eases the application. The tassels of the brush ensure that you can a single application can grab your entire nail bed right from the base. The bristles of the brush are actually broad. It took some time to get familiarised with this type of an applicator but once done it was just a breeze. The applicator is slightly slanted or angled and provides you the grip or proper hold while painting your nails.

I love the thick, creamy and pigmented texture of the polishes and one coat is enough for good coverage. They have a great shine and glossy smooth finish without even a top coat. I absolutely adore the colours. The colors are diverse and lively.  All colors are beautiful and I would love to wear.

Longevity wise these paints survived till the weekend chip free. The staying power of seven days is pretty wow for me. The longevity factor depends on your nails and the type of work you do. I do not wash or clean too often. I stay most of the time at office. You can always use a good top coat. If you change your nail polish every day or two days, then you do not have to worry. I find the price is good in relation to quality, and that I am not into polishes that cost above 300. They are suitable for the summer and for the coming spring, winter or autumn months too.  As always, Oriflame has left me impressed with their collection.

Price: Rs. 299/- for 8 ml. Available through Oriflame consultants across India

Shades:

Red Sky At Night is a raspberry red nail polish, with a subtle pearl sheen. Red Sky At Night is thinner than other polishes but gets covered in two layers. Red Sky at Night is such a summer stunner with its orangish red. Although I hate polishes with shimmer and gloss, I find this shade pleasant and beautiful. The shimmer is visible only when it is attracted to light. It is a trendy shade that you can sport this summer and it has a bright look. It is more orange than red.

London Red is a classic red, a color that every woman would die for. It is damn chic, stylish and feminine. It requires 2-3 layers for a nice coverage. It is an elegant glossy red.

Ruby Rouge is a darker shade. It is a gorgeous dark vampire blood red with a cream finish. It just requires one layer for an opaque finish.
