I have acne prone sensitive facial skin and I have been reading up a lot about Aloe skincare. I got this Plum Hello Aloe Facewash to review and I loved the ingredient list for this product with very gentle natural ingredients, lots of soothing aloe and not many chemicals.

Ingredients:

Aloe Vera Juice
We so love this ingredient that we created an entire range out of it. A fun fact about aloe: The Greeks used Aloe Vera as a cure for baldness (whether it actually worked is not documented, though)
Sodium laureth sulfate
Not to be confused with the brash SLS, sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) is actually a pretty easy-going fellow, and something our chemists like, as it is a mild, yet effective, gently foaming cleansing ingredient.
Cocoamidopropyl betaine
Don’t get taken in by the long, chemical-sounding name. Betaines are one of the mildest cleansers known, and are commonly used in baby shampoos, including the “no-tears” versions.
Full ingredient list:

Aqua (Water), Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Cocamide DEA, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Ethylhexylglycerin, FDA Approved Colours, Fragrance, Olive Oil PEG-7 Esters, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Laureth Sulphate

My Experience:

The Plum Hello Aloe Facewash comes in a white plastic squeeze tube with green fonts and an outer carton. The packaging contains all the required information. The packaging is sturdy, travel friendly and cute.
The consistency of the product is runny. It is not thick and the texture is gel kind. It is transparent and doesn’t have a heavy fragrance. The scent is mild like aloe and it barely gets into the nose.
I love that this cleanser foams and lathers decently yet feels super gentle to my skin. I don’t think this removes waterproof and heavy makeup to the last traces. For that you can follow up with the toner. The cleansing effect is remarkable. It leaves a clean fresh feel.
This is a great facial wash, but if you’re looking for a face wash that removes makeup, this won’t do the trick.
I’m very pleased with the result of this Facewash. There are no break outs and my skin doesn’t get dry.  It takes up a generous amount to lather mildly but even then the product will last long. This is a gentle and light facewash that leaves my skin feeling soft and balanced. You can lather it up in your hands before application. I love the ingredient list when it comes to Plum.
I think this is one of the best mild cleansers I have ever used! I have a sensitive skin with lots of impurities and it is pimple prone.  I double cleanse my skin every morning and evening with this cleanser along with my Konjac, Magnitone Lucid or Tony Moly Bubble Sonic Pore Cleanser and whenever I use it and they work perfectly together. This product feels soft on the skin and doesn’t irritate my skin at all. It is also very affordable considering the quality and ingredients and lasts for more than a month! I still have 3/4thof tube left after using regularly for more than two weeks.
Pros:
  • Mild cleanser
  • Real aloe juice
  • No drying chemicals
  • Good and Informative Packaging
  • Gentle and light
  • Cleanses well
  • Refreshing in nature
  • Heavy fragrance free
  • Hydrating and moisturising
  • Skin friendly
  • Natural Ingredients
  • No parabens and SLS
  • Suits all skin types
  • No irritations or breakouts

Cons:
  • Doesn’t remove stubborn makeup completely

Overall Thoughts:

I really loved and enjoyed this product. It feels great on my face and it cleanses in a super gentle way without heavy build up or dryness. Does exactly what it says on the pack. It is so true to its claims.  I can even skip a moisturiser after using this. It is so skin friendly and I love it. I was confused about the SLES used and Plum has described about it which I have shared below.
Plum Speaks:

SLES is not SLS!
Catch our 5-minute tutorial on SLS vs. SLES and you will never be confused again. For the record, PLUM says no to SLS.
