18 Jul Tech Talk: Lenovo A6000 Plus SmartPhone Review!
I am a gadget freak. I use a Samsung Galaxy S4 but I decided to carry around a second phone to separate my professional or business needs from personal and entertainment needs. When Lenovo India launched a new variant after the successful release of Lenovo A6000 in India at Rs 6,999, I thought it will be an apt choice for me. The features and budget is what swayed me away. Lenovo A6000 Plus, is the better and improved version of A6000 with a few minor tweaks in its specifications. The Lenovo A6000 Plus was initially priced at Rs.7,499 and is available exclusively on Flipkart. I registered online for their sale. Lenovo A6000 comes with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB storage whereas Lenovo A6000 Plus comes with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage.
Lenovo A6000 Plus is very light and slim build wise. It is a budget friendly Android phone under 8k packed with powerful performance.
Lenovo A6000 Plus is outfitted with a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720) IPS display. I am in love with its bigger and brighter 12.7 cm screen. It is dual sim enabled and the battery is replaceable. The body is polycarbonate which is pleasing enough.
Lenovo A6000 Plus measures 141.0 x 70.0 x 8.2 mm and weighs 128g. The screen to body ratio comes around 69.8 percent. The volume rocker and the power button lies on the right of the device whereas the micro USB charging and 3.5mm audio out port lies at the top of the device. The 8MP primary camera shares the back space with the two speaker grills. The 5-inch IPS LCD display occupies the front portion with 3 capacitive buttons below the screen for accessing home, menu and undo functions. A6000 Plus features two SIM card slots out of which one supports SIMs up to 4G and the other slot supports only 2G. Lenovo A6000 Plus features Android 4.4 Kitkat topped with the Vibe UI. The OS is upgradable to Lollipop. A6000 Plus features the Snapdragon 410 SoC processor. It sports a 8MP rear camera with Auto Focus and LED flash and also a 2 MP front camera.
There is no gorilla glass protection offered. The screen is prone to scratches. There is no headset provided with the sales box. A glass protection sticker label has been provided.
The battery lasts for around 20 hours. There are slight heating issues but that is only if you use continuously. You can use headphones while attending calls. Some people complained regarding the SAR Value and radiations emitted. For that, dont keep the device near your bed and even if you do just put it in flight mode.
You can except much when compared to A6000 because this costs only Rs 500 extra. This is one of the best smartphones available in India under 10k. No other Brands offer you a similar device with lot of features and nice design for a cheap price except Micromax Yu Yuphoria.
Personally, I feel that the device is sturdy and reliable. It is fast and responsive enough to play mobile games, surf social networking or e-mails. It doesn’t crash when you multi task and there are no lags. With lot of themes, the UI is colorful. There are lot of apps too. This device is a value for money. Give it a go and you wont be disappointed. The device is available in Colors Black, White, Yellow, Red.
What I like the most is its matte finish on the back, with a slight curve near the rear edges. It is very compact, slim and easy to use. Backed by 64-bit processors, the performance is fast. The camera is decent and the dolby speakers are awesome. There is a good battery life and 4G support. What else do you need?? Lenovo A7000 review to follow soon. Stay Tuned !!
