My Take on the Product:
The product comes in a white sturdy plastic bottle with a green flip cap. The packaging is just simple and nothing fancy. The smaller versions are more travel friendly. You need to tape the cap if you are carrying this in your bag to prevent any chances of leakage. The flip cap is not very tight.
The shampoo is runny in consistency and appears shiny pearl white in colour. The shampoo lathers well when I massage it to scalp with a little water. I heard many people complaining about the lathering power but for me it lathered well may be because I used a generous quantity.
I used a handful amount of the product and it left my oily dirty scalp clean. It cleanses really well and it get rids of the itch too temporarily.
The shampoo is very mild, contains no aggressive cleansing agents like SLES, no silicones and no parabens. It smells pleasant and light (at least to me), it cleans well, and it doesn’t irritate my very sensitive scalp. Also, it seems that it’s active ingredient (Eclipta Alba extract) used in this shampoo conditions and improves the texture of your hair. My hair is dry after using but I don’t care as long as my scalp is clean and clear.
I agree that this shampoo is drying on hair but it is the same with all natural shampoos out there. It is the SLES that makes your hair soft and the shampoos that are free from SLS are drying. The shampoo is safe to use and is not at all harmful. It makes your hair healthy.
I used the shampoo alone once and it made my hair dry and rough like straw. I started using this shampoo with MABH Hair Oil, Old Wives Tail Hair Treatment and my Tangle Teezer Brush and the combo made my hair normal. I could feel that my hair texture has improved and there are less hair fall/breakage issues. If you find this shampoo drying please be aware that it is still good as it is free from chemicals and the drying is quite normal. You can follow up with a good natural conditioner or mask to prevent drying.
The shampoo alone doesn’t reduce hair fall (None of the shampoos in the market do) but it is gentle enough to be used every day and it does no harm to your hair. It comes with a decent quantity and affordable price tag. Even if you use it generously, it lasts for more than a month.
It doesn’t leave any residue or product build up behind. I think I will be best suited for oily scalp and it can control only minor hall fall issues.
The shampoo claims to contain 100% herb actives but I see Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate in the ingredients. Overall, a decent shampoo which is gentle enough to be used every day but you will have to follow up with a good conditioner if you have dry hair like me.
  • Right Texture and Consistency
  • Pleasant Fragrance. Non bothersome smell
  • Cleanses hair well
  • Promotes healthy hair and scalp
  • Herbal and key composition is beneficial
  • Washes away easily
  • Leaves no residue or build up
  • Availability is not an issue as it is Himalaya
  • Affordable price tag
  • Simple but functional packaging
  • Not Suitable for dry rough hair. You need to follow up with a good conditioner
  • More quantity of the product is required if your hair is oily, dirty or stinky
  • Contains Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate
  • Shampoo alone doesn’t stop hair fall but it helps to improve the condition
Overall Thoughts:
My hair still falls/breaks, but I think a little bit less. The shampoo itself is not a solution, but it helps.Really gentle on the scalp, lathers well, easy application, creamy texture to the product, it’s a perfect shampoo for everyday use.
