As you all know, I have been promoted in my current job and I am now living in Chennai. I had to be away for a few months due to some unavoidable personal reasons. I am back and I promise you I will post updates regularly henceforth. Hope you all had a fab new year and missed me all these days.
It was a brilliant start to the year 2018 for me so far. Under my list of things to do in January, I had set a reminder for Pehnava.
Pehnava is an Exhibition cum Sale curated by Shuba Jagan. In this exhibition, you get to see a few designer brands displaying their product line. Pehnava is back with a unique ethnic couture this time. Read this post to know more..
From indo-western, western, ethnic wear to accessories like shoes, bags and antique jewellery Pehnava has everything festive under one roof for us to shop. You can get some exciting gifting ideas too if you visit Pehnava.
The ethnic couture took place at the English Tea Room, Alwarpet, Chennai on Jan 5th and 6th 2018. The English Tea Room is itself a charming space for relaxing with chit chat conversations, nostalgia and great food.
The highlights were kalamkari sarees, custom embroidered blouses, pastel linen sarees with tassels, handmade products by Tarang NGO. There were around 15 designer labels this time.
Here are my favourite stores from the Pehnava Event:
Amodhini: They have a fabulous collection of linens with the most intricate designs – Jhamdhani Linen Collection. Shop some exclusive hand loomed stuff from them. I am in love the pastel shades <3
Tashi Threads: Checkout Tashi Threads by Ashwini & Smitha for some exclusive designer sarees in unique designs. What is special about this brand is the quirkiest prints on sarees and stoles. I instantly fell in love with their classy collection of auto, cars, cycles, flamingo prints on comfortable fabrics like Manipuri silk and semi tussar silk. The dupattas are priced at Rs 1000/-
Madhura Boutique: Madhura Boutique brings exquisite Jewelry from different parts of India exclusively for their customers. Checkout their silver nosepins, handcrafted German Silver Jewellery, Silver trinkets, Afghani Jewellery and a bit of gold imitation jewellery.
Dakshee Studio: Checkout their exclusive collection of silk cotton, trendy handblock prints on semi silk saree, chanderi silk saree and handpainted tussar sarees.
Avatharana: Avatharana is an abode of handmade accessories with best colour combinations as well.
Tinge: Tinge boutique was created to adhere to the fashion needs of the woman and sells some funky clutches.
Myura by Anitha Prabhu: Check her out for customized Bridal blouses with amazing tailoring & Kids party Wear.
SJ Designs: SJ Designs is the inhouse brand of Shuba Jagan. She is a designer herself and makes maxi gowns, crop tops etc.
The collection showcased at Pehnava is simply fantastic and is guaranteed to make you a show stopper any day. You will definitely love the rare handpicked garments from all over the country with a wide range of sarees & salwars in varying styles such as Chanderi, Kota, Kanchipuram, Banarasi & many more.
