23 May Asus Zenfone Max ZC550KL Review !!
Well, Team Asus India was nice enough to send me another new launch. I had posted about the Mystery Box by Asus yesterday. The box has been unveiled. Guess what showed up?
The Asus Zenfone MAX!
I was excited like a kid with a new toy. I opened the box while drooling at it the same time. I must confess here that I love new gadgets!
#LiveUnplugged featured the digital launch of Asus Zenfone Max. This is basically the ‘upgraded’ version of the other Asus Zenfones and you can call it a beast.
I just spent a week with my Asus Zenfone Max Smartphone, and here’s my review.
- 5000mAh Battery
- Powerbank capabilities
- 5.5inch IPS HD
- Corning® Gorilla® Glass 4
- 13mp Camera with super fast laser auto-focus
- Android Marshmallow 6.0.1
The first thing that got me hooked to this device is its build quality. The design is definitely too good. It looks like premium stuff with that faux leather look back and golden metal looking bezel. The back is actually plastic but seems embossed with the optical illusion effect.
The device is soft to hold, has got sharp looks plus it slips smoothly into the purse. Zenfone Max is not only powerful but also beautiful. The rear etching provides that added grip!
Asus Zenfone Max offers great potential with that monster battery of 5000 Mah. The battery has a juicy capacity upto 38 days. The battery is custom-crafted from lithium-polymer to pack maximum energy into minimum space! It has the power to double up as an power bank. The battery is non removable.
ASUS ZenFone Max comes with a special USB on-the-go (OTG) cable which allows you to charge other devices as well. The smartphone provides the options for Power Saving and Super Saving too. Battery usage can be customized too.
ZenFone Max sports a 13MP PixelMaster camera with f/2.0-aperture lens. You can capture stunning, high-resolution images with zero shutter lag. The ultra-fast laser auto-focus feature reduces blurring and enhances image stabilization. Low Light mode employs pixel-merging technology to capture up to 400% brighter photos at night or in low-light scenes without any need for a flash.
ZenFone Max is powered by a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 615 1.5 Ghz octacore processor. The device has got an ample performance for daily tasks and activities. With Adreno 405 GPU, you can expect better graphics performance.
LTE Category 4 allows you download speeds up to 150Mbps. ASUS ZenUI makes your experience with the device enjoyable. The device is topped with Android Marshmallow.
It comes with a storage capacity of 32 GB in two variants – one with 2 GB of RAM and the other with 3 GB of RAM. The Zenfone Max with 2 GB RAM is available for Rs 9,999 while the Zenfone Max with 3 GB RAM is available for Rs 12,999. It also offers additional storage with microSD card support of up to 64 GB.
The only downside is that the phone feels bit bulky. It is great to hold but I find it a little heavy. Also, in extreme low light conditions, the images get captured with some noise. These are just minor points and it is not something that I will worry about while choosing a smartphone.
ASUS Zenfone Max’s screen is huge, and I love to use it to watch movies and play games. Volume and lock button is on the side of ASUS Zenfone Max.
The latest Corning Gorilla® Glass 4 screen and 5mp front camera are some great additions.
Other than the black, there are color options like orange and blue. All these features I have jotted above makes it feel like a flagship mobile. But at this affordable price tag, it sure feels like a damn good deal to me ! What are your thoughts about Asus Zenfone Max !!!
