Hope you all got a glimpse of X2 River Kwai Resort in my previous post. X2 River Kwai Resort is truly a hidden gem in Kanchanaburi District of Thailand.
X2 resorts follow this mantra – “to have a unique and unequivocal persona that is embraced by all elements of the resort. “
For those of you who don’t want to visit any other place and wish to spend some quality time at the resort to make it a perfect getaway, here is what you can do! The resort offers many eco-friendly, low-carbon activities so that you can slow down, chill out and reconnect with yourself in the lap of nature.
Kayaking/Paddle Boat/Jet Ski: If you stay at the cabin with kayak, don’t miss to try it out. It was scary but fun. You can kayak from 7 am – 7 pm every day. The resort minimizes the use of Jet Ski due to its noise.
Reading: Try catching up with those books at the reading corner. Even the books here are picturesque. There are a lot of books on travel, interior design, food and yoga that will fuel up your knowledge. The reading corner is damn chic and comfy.
Spa: The resort has an in-house spa for those who wish to try Thai massage. You can choose from their range of services like full body massage, aromatherapy massage, foot massage or neck, and shoulder massage. I tried their one hour neck and shoulder massage. I came to know Thai massage is an entirely different approach with a focus on recovery and healing techniques. They use less oil/lotions and more of acupressure and physical techniques. It’s not what I imagined. The atmosphere in the spa room was very relaxing with scents of aroma oils, soft music playing in the background. By the end of the session, the therapy really made a difference to my aching back. My muscles didn’t hurt like before. The massage made my sore muscles looser and stretched out. The session was therapeutic and absolute bliss. I regret not trying out Thai massage sooner. You can get yourself pampered at the resort’s spa with Thai treatments.
Cycling: The resort provides mountain bikes and guests can easily explore nearby areas by bike. Beware of street dogs. There are local temples and crop plantations nearby.
Photography: The location is scenic. The flora and fauna around are amazing. Oh! I forgot to mention there is a huge raintree that festoon the resort. You can shoot some candid snaps.
Swimming: You can refresh in the infinity pool there. Get some uninterrupted views as well. Alternatively, throw in a bath bomb and soak yourself in the bathtub turning on some light music for that “me” time. You can indulge in a hot shower as well when you are tired.
Stargazing: Make use of the lounge beds, rooftop/ sun decks. If you are lucky, you can enjoy stargazing. Enjoy the tranquility and fresh air. Witness sunrise/sunset for once in a lifetime experience. Relax and reconnect yourself with nature.
Treat your Tastebuds with some iconic Thai Dishes at their in-house restaurant The bridge bar and bistro. Tip: Have a meal outside by the river for a special feel.
I recommend X2 River Kwai Resort to people who are looking for a getaway from the fast-paced routine and hustle-bustle of city life for relaxation.
